Inquest into factory death

A WORKER who died in a Sheffield factory has been named as Nigel Wayne Hall.

The 47-year-old, of Ferndale Drive, Bramley, Rotherham, was fatally injured at ATI Allvac when he was hit by a piece of moving metal.

He was working at the firm’s factory on President Way, off Carlisle Street, Attercliffe, when tragedy struck on Wednesday, August 17.

Paramedics battled to revive him but he was pronounced dead a short time later.

An investigation into the death has been launched by the Health and Safety Executive and an inquest has been opened and adjourned.

ATI Allvac manufactures speciality metals, including titanium, nickel and cobalt-based alloys for markets including the aerospace industry.
