Mountain rescue team volunteers helped a walker from Sheffield who slipped and suffered a suspected broken ankle.

The woman was walking down Jacobs Ladder, also known as the Pennine Way, when she fell on Saturday afternoon.

Some passing walkers raised the alarm and helped her until Edale and Buxton Mountain Rescue Teams arrived at the scene.

She was carried on a stretcher for two kilometres to a farm, where an ambulance was waiting to transport her to hospital in Sheffield for further treatment.
