Indonesian trade mission visiting Rotherham for export week

A 19-strong Indonesian trade mission is visiting Rotherham in a bid to seek out new business opportunities as part of an event to celebrate exporting.

The inward trade mission, organised by the South Yorkshire International Trade Centre, will see the delegation attend the Breaking Barriers: Succeed Overseas event held at the Advanced Manufacturing Park on Thursday, April 21, from 9am to 2pm.

The visit is part of the wider UK Trade & Investment Exporting is GREAT Week from April 18 to 22.

Susan Waterson, deputy regional director for UK Trade & Investment Yorkshire and the Humber, said: “Exporting is GREAT Week is an outstanding opportunity for businesses to learn more about international trade opportunities, and the support available to help them fulfil their exporting ambitions.”

The delegation includes senior executives of Indonesian businesses in sectors including timber manufacturing, forest conservation and restoration, construction, accountancy, software and hardware, law and food production. They will be seeking suppliers, strategic partnerships and collaboration on research and development schemes with Yorkshire firms.

Adrian Short, president director of PT Rolls-Royce Indonesia, will address delegates at the event.

A senior representative of Sheffield-based Pricecheck Toiletries, an award-winning family business that supplies branded consumer goods worldwide, will also give a presentation.

Giles Searby, partner and specialist in commercial litigation and international trade at event legal partner hlw Keeble Hawson, will present at a tax and legal issues workshop.
