The festival, featuring a unique blend of contemporary independent cinema from across the world, will be held at Sentinel Brewery, on Shoreham Street, on March 1.

“Every aspect of the filmmaking process is represented at our events,” said John Pank, who founded the festival in Manchester in 2015, along with fellow filmmaker Arron Lee White, to create a networking platform which could also inspire creativity from those who attended.

“On the cinematic side, that’s directors, screenwriters, and producers – as well as the people whose skills are integral to a quality production, so actors, musicians and designers. We aim to impress with our range of artistic disciplines, as well as the diversity of films seen at our events.”

The Sheffield event will be hosted by local composer Myles Sketchley Mercer.

“Sheffield is a very artistic city,” said Myles.

“Short films are an excellent way to demonstrate that art – whether it’s through giving an exceptional performance, writing a beautiful score, or designing a stunning poster. IndieFlicks attracts a community of talented people who have those skills in spades.”

Every month, the festival’s judges receive hundreds of submissions from shorts currently on the festival circuit.

“They only pick the best films for their screenings,” said director Chris Cronin.

“So it’s not only a great festival to enter, but a great film night to attend.”
