There will be an increased police presence in Barnsley today for the Barnsley FC match Sheffield United at Oakwell.

The game kicks off at 12.15pm and more than 14,000 fans are expected to attend.

South Yorkshire police have also said there will be additional security measures in place at the stadium and have asked fans to be patient.

A message on Barnsley FC website the club asked fans to be ‘extra vigilant’ in light of the recent Paris terror attacks.

Supporters have also been asked not to bring in bags unless absolutely neccessary as the club security will be carrying out random bag checks which may slow down entry to the stadium.

After the game there will be a barrier blocking off Grove Street outside Oakwell stadium.
