The Incident tells the story of a successful young couple whose comfortable lives are disrupted and their relationship unravels when they each make a decision to ignore the plight of a troubled teenage girl.

Lily enters the lives of Annabel and Joe, setting off a chain of events that challenges them to dig beneath the surface and examine who they really are, but when she leaves Lily is inextricably linked to Annabel, Joe and their unborn child.

The certificate 15 film stars Tom Hughes (Cemetery Junction, Victoria), Ruta Gedmintas (A Street Cat Named Bob, The Strain) and newcomer Tasha Connor.

The Sunday Mirror said: “The Incident is a tense and cleverly off-kilter drama, elegantly shot and astutely thought-provoking.

“A bold and shrewdly structured new British psychological drama.”

The film was shot entirely entirely in Yorkshire with locations including Dewsbury and Huddersfield villages Slaithwaite, Honley and Farnley Hay.

The director of the UK-funded film, Jane Linfoot, is from Kirkham Abbey, producer Caroline Cooper Charles comes from Sheffield and actress Tasha Connor from Leeds.

A special screening takes place on Friday at 6pm, accompanied with an on-stage interview afterwards with Jane Linfoot and Tasha Connor.
