DEMANDS are being made for high speed broadband to be expanded to help households and businesses on the rural edge of Sheffield.

When in power two years ago, Lib Dem councillors launched a Rural Communities Strategy, which aimed to find solutions to broadband problems by 2013.

However, two years on, many rural areas like Dungworth, Worrall, Oughtibridge, and Grenoside, have ‘inadequate’ broadband, the party says. Lib Dems are proposing a motion at tomorrow’s full council meeting for the authority to address the issue.
