I'm waiting eagerly for reply, Coun Lodge

Good afternoon Councillor Lodge.

I am afraid I didn’t hear the Radio Sheffield interview you gave on the Toby Foster Show on Friday, November 18, (the day after you sanctioned the Rustlings Road tree massacre), in which you said the council will be planting 17 trees to replace the eight removed.

Perhaps you would be good enough to explain to me how any new saplings planted will be able to provide the overhead canopy and protection against pollution that the felled 100-year-old trees provided.

How many years will I have to wait to see the new trees grow to the height of those removed, and how long it will take to restore the road to its former glory which you destroyed?

Even with 17 more planted this will still fall far short of the number of trees that originally lined both sides of Rustlings Road.

I am also waiting with interest to hear from you as to why the report of the Independent Tree Panel was only issued a short while before felling began, and what is the point of setting up the panel in the first place if there was no intention to accept their findings which was that only one of the eight trees needed removing?

Waiting in anticipation for your reply.
