I'm off to the pub - fancy a pint of milk?

But that’s exactly what’s on offer at the King William Inn in Scaftworth, which is really milking it by selling a Doncaster farm’s fresh milk in a quirky vending machine.

Award-winning Manor Farm Jersey Milk is the cream of the crop at the public house, just outside Bawtry, which sells the white stuff from an outbuilding on the premises.

The venture was launched by Claire and Tom Dickinson, who are the fifth generation of the Dickinson family to sell milk.

Claire said: “The vending machine is easy to use.

“Just put your money in, put your container under the nozzle, choose how many litres your container will hold and the milk will dispense.

“We sell printed glass milk bottles so that customers can wash and sterilise at home (dishwasher safe bottles) and then come back to refill with milk, therefore helping the environment.

“If customers forget their bottles then we also have plastic bottles available too.”

Even though the couple’s vending machine venture has only been operational for a little over six weeks, Manor Farm Jersey Milk has already begun to win accolades including Best Liquid Milk champion at this year’s Great Yorkshire Show.

The judges praised the farm’s milk for being ‘creamy, clean, fresh, wholesome and flavoursome milk in a tough category to judge’.

Claire, who is mum to two-year-old Ava, added: “Tom runs our family farm and believes that everyone should be able to enjoy the delicious taste of fresh Jersey milk like we are fortunate enough to have.

“Working alongside Tom is his father John, mother Susan and our fab team of staff Richard, Tomas and Josh.

“Ava is two years old and loves helping out around the farm.

“She enjoys feeding the calves, the chicken and riding round on the tractor with Daddy!”
