IKEA is urging Sheffield customers to return travel mug over chemical concerns

IKEA is “urging” customers to return a product found to contain levels of chemicals over the required limits.

The Swedish retailer has asked anyone who owns a TROLIGTVIS travel mug marked ‘Made in India’ to stop using it immediately and return it to any store for a full refund. No proof of purchase is required.

According to their website: “Recent test reports show that the product may migrate levels of chemicals exceeding the required limits.”

“IKEA recently received test reports showing that the travel mug may migrate levels of Dibutyl phthalate (DBP) exceeding the recommended limits. The investigation has shown that travel mugs marked ‘Made in India’ may be affected.”

This product was sold between October and January of this year.

The retailer added: “We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.”
