I'd deputise for Prince

Your Royal Watcher columnist James Taylor argues that Prince William is a hard worker.

He justifies this by stating that he visited Canada in 2011, South Pacific and South East Asia in 2012, New Zealand in 2014 and India in 2016. If these annual holidays really add up to hard work I would be more than willing to deputise for him. And did he make the decision to travel, save up his money and make all the arrangements himself? No I don’t think so.

Mr Taylor mentions that William has received a lot of media coverage and inexplicably claims this as evidence that he is popular. I have been subject to all this media coverage and can tell you that it has not made him popular with me or anyone else I speak to.

Why? Because the media reports include stories of William’s hunting exploits followed by two-faced condemnation of others doing the same.

Pictures of William and Kate out game shooting, and the suspicious alleged incident of protected hen harriers being shot down over Sandringham where William was out shooting, do nothing forthe popularity of the prince, who lives in a different world from most of us.

So please, spare us from the patronising words of the Royal Watcher.
