A bogus caller is believed to be targeting elderly people in Sheffield.

Police have issued a warning after an unknown man talked his way into a property on Hollybank Avenue in Intake on Sunday night around 10.30pm before stealing a laptop and cash.

A similar incident was also reported this morning, Tuesday, on Hindehouse Lane, Page Hall.

On both occasions the unknown man has been described as white, in his 30s and of slim build.

Detective Constable Lee Freeman said: “We believe that a man has targeted elderly people in the area by talking his way into their homes. We would like residents to be vigilant and speak to their elderly relatives about not letting unknown callers into their homes.”
