The ‘Apprenticeships: Be Inspired’ event returns to Sheffield next year, which will give businesses thinking of recruiting apprentices a chance to meet Y11, Y12 and Y13 pupils from across the region.

Organised by Skills Made Easy, a programme funded by the Sheffield City Region Local Enterprise Partnership, more than 500 school leavers attend the free event earlier this year and more than 200 apprenticeship vacancies were on offer from local and national employers.

Taking place at the Ponds Forge International Sports Centre in Sheffield on Wednesday, March 2, between 1.30pm and 4.30pm, businesses interested in attending can apply for a free exhibition stand.

The event is open to businesses across the whole Sheffield City Region, with students from Sheffield, Rotherham, Barnsley, North East Derbyshire, Bolsover, Bassetlaw and Chesterfield also expected to attend.

Laura Hayfield, programme manager at Skills Made Easy, said: “Young people do not get many opportunities to meet directly with employers who are specifically looking to recruit at the time they are leaving school, and this is a brilliant chance to find out more about their options and make vital connections. We are looking for employers who are thinking of expanding their workforce over the next twelve months to take part in the event.”

Any businesses interested in booking a stand are asked to contact the Skills Made Easy team on 0114 273 6559.
