Hundreds of homes and businesses in Sheffield have been plunged into darkness by a power cut tonight.

Homes in the Beauchief and Woodseats area were blacked out shortly before 9pm, according to residents.
Northern Powergrid described the incident as ‘major’ said it is working to restore supplies by 10.30pm.
A spokesman said: “The power cut has been caused by an unexpected problem with the cables or equipment that serve the area. If you need to report an emergency, please call 105.”
