Hundreds to gather in city to celebrate book week

Hundreds are set to gather in the Peace Gardens to mark the National Bookstart Week.

Children and adults will gather on Tuesday between 10am and midday for the celebrations.

There will be lots of workshops suitable for under-fives and their families to encourage book sharing from an early age.

All the workshops are based around this years theme Under the Sea.

Attendees will be joined by Lord Mayor Coun Jackie Drayton, Coun Jack Scott and Coun Dianne Hurst.
