Huge delays as ‘police incident’ stops traffic on M1 near Sheffield and Chesterfield

The incident is being dealt with on the northbound carriageway near Junction 30 – close to south Sheffield and Chesterfield.

Both South Yorkshire Police and Derbyshire Police are at the scene.

Highways England said: “The M1 northbound at Junction 30 - traffic has been temporarily stopped due to a police incident.

“Traffic Officers and South Yorkshire Police and Derbyshire Police are currently at the scene.”
