Huge cannabis haul seized in police raid on house

TWO men have been arrested after police raided a house in Bentley, Doncaster, and seized drugs worth thousands of pounds.

Officers from Doncaster Drugs Unit executed a search warrant at a house on Bentley Road last week and recovered a “substantial” haul of cannabis with an estimated street value of 93,000.

A significant sum of cash has also been recovered in the raid. Police have not revealed the exact figure.

The two men at the house, both aged in their 30s, were arrested for alleged possession of the drug.

Enquiries are continuing in relation to the cannabis and the money.

Investigating officer PC Nicola Hallam said: “This a substantial amount of cannabis removed from the streets of Doncaster.

“Cannabis is unlawful to possess in any circumstances.

“The police will endeavour to investigate and bring to justice those who continue to produce, supply and possess the drug,” she said.

“I would urge members of the public to contact Crime-stoppers on 0800 555111 if they suspect drug activity in their area.”
