How Sheffield Wednesday players are feeling ahead of Wolves' title party
Sheffield Wednesday players can't wait to test themselves against newly-crowned title winners Wolves at Molineux.
The Owls find themselves at the centre of a party in the Black Country as the champions play their last home game of a stunning season.
However, Luhukay, whose side are in decent form themselves, says Wednesday are ready to take some of the fizz out of the celebrations.
“I’ll answer after the game,” Luhukay replied when asked if this match could show just how much progress had been made by his team since he arrived in January.
“It is a big challenge of course.
“Every player is highly motivated to play the best team in the league this season and we try to give our best and I’m sure the players will do that.
“We must also enjoy the game. Wolves have no pressure, we have no pressure so we can play free but with a very high focus and concentration and then see what’s possible.”
While it may be a champagne occasion for Nuno Espírito Santo’s side, Luhukay does not see this as a good time to take on the league’s top side and is no doubt that Wolves will be focussed on getting the three points which would take them beyond the 100-point mark.
“They (Wolves) will not relax,” he said.
“Of course from their position and their points (they are without pressure), but this is the last home game so they will want to give their fans a very good game.
“I have had that experience in the past, I have had the feeling as the manager and also the experience with the players.
“It is a last impression for your own fans to give them a good game and a good result so it is a very heavy game for us.”
