Housing plan to bring empty area of land back into use

Have your say

A site which has lain derelict since old council homes were pulled down is set to be redeveloped.

Great Places housing association has applied to build 88 one, two and three bedroom houses on the land off Cricket Inn Road, Wybourn.

Two objections have been made to the plans, one from a nearby resident unhappy that his view across the Don Valley will ‘disappear’ and another worried about anti-social tenants.

But Sheffield Council’s planning officers said the land is earmarked for housing use, and recommend approval at a planning board meeting tomorrow.
