Housebuilding plea from MP

Have your say

ROTHERHAM MP Sarah Champion has claimed not enough new homes are being built to give young people ‘a chance to get on the housing ladder’.

The Labour politician has pointed to figures from the National House Building Council which show there were 92,313 homes built nationwide in 2012, down from 108,490 in 2011.

She said: “It is important that we see an increase in homes being built. We need to get many more young people into ownership and to increase supply of new homes.”
