A house in Sheffield was raided in broad daylight when a patio door was forced open to gain entry.

South Yorkshire Police said a number of items were stolen during the burglary in Carter Hall Road, Charnock, earlier this week.

Officers in the city are also investigating burglaries in Bradway Road, Bradway; Thrush Street, Walkley; Toyne Street, Crookes and Ridgehill Avenue, Intake

Tools were stolen a garage at Whitwell Lane, Stocksbridge, was raided.

There was an attempted burglary in High Matlock Avenue, Stannington, this week but the offender failed to gain entry.

Investigations are also underway into the theft of a number of vehicles across the city, including a white Ford Transit van, with the registration number ND09 BXZ, which was taken from

Penthorpe Close, Intake.

A moped was stolen from Birley Spa Lane, Hackenthorpe.

Witnesses to any of the incidents or anyone with information should call 101.
