Kyle Howarth is desperate to build on his flying start to life with Sheffield Tigers as they host Peterborough at Owlerton on Thursday (7.30pm).

The British under-21 champion bagged an encouraging 10 points on his home debut against Leicester last week before notching 10+1 as the Tigers kicked off their League Cup campaign with a tremendous win at Scunthorpe.

Howarth is now looking for more of the same as they face a tough test against the Panthers.

He said: “It was a big win for us at Scunthorpe. Everyone did their job and it was a really positive match.

“It’s been a good start for me, and we’ve got a great team with a brilliant atmosphere in the pits already.

“It’s going to be tough against Peterborough, but everyone is on a high and feeling positive after the first few meetings.

“Even though we lost against Leicester last week, we pushed them close and did well considering they are an Elite League side, so it’s all been good for us so far.

“I’ve been really pleased with how I’ve started the season, so I’ll be working hard to continue that on Thursday and build on everything I learnt about Owlerton in our first home meeting against Leicester last week.”
