NIFTY Norma’s needles have knitted 360 chicks!

The former breast cancer patient, aged 61, from Rawmarsh, created the cute woollen birds to raise funds for Rotherham Hospital Charity.

She started stitching in January and roped in her family to sell them.

Her son even managed to sell one to the writer of Dr Who in London.

Norma was discharged from the hospital’s breast cancer service last year.

She said: “I just wanted to thank the staff really.

“When we reached the £100 mark I couldn’t believe how popular they were so I carried on knitting.”

She has raised £540 towards a new breast biopsy system.
