Horses for Pat’s funeral

A HORSE-DRAWN hearse helped fulfil one of the last wishes of a Doncaster woman.

The coffin of Patricia Kennedy travelled the short distance from her Alderson Drive home to a funeral service at St Mary’s Church, Tickhill.

Mrs Kennedy, aged 77, who had lived in Tickhill for a number of years, had requested before her death that her final journey be made by a traditional method of transport and her family were able to fulfil her wish.

The glass-sided Victorian hearse was pulled by a pair of black Friesian horses with black plumes, from the church to the cemetery at Warmsworth after a service by Rev Canon Gordon Taylor.
