Horrendous actions

The council's apology for the felling of the Rustlings Road trees is the most appalling I've ever heard.

Of course, they have to say something with the apparently worldwide disgust at their actions – they have sunk to the deepest depths.

I felt quite sick as I read it ,as all I could hear was their laughter and cheering because they got what they wanted in the most underhand and despicable way.

It is a two-finger gesture to the good people of Sheffield.

It was planned well in advance.

Having had the experts’ survey saying they were healthy from July, they then only released it an hour before the trees were gone.

Whoever gets the money for the trees (council or Amey) should give it back to the citizens of Sheffield.

Perhaps if could help pay for the renovation of the Central Library.

At least a good cause would come from losing the mature trees.

That could possibly be acceptable as an apology because it would show they meant it.

Hopefully, the people will remember the council’s horrendous actions in the May election.
