Hooking-up for a mighty 'duel' on stilts

IT'S not Never Never Land - but isn't that Captain Hook and Peter Pan?

Kids visiting Sheffield’s Peace Gardens were well and truly Hooked after they got an unexpected treat when the Captain and his arch enemy came face-to-face to arrange a mighty duel - on stilts.

They’ll be back to fight the duel at the Sheffield on Sea event when The Captain will once again try to feed Peter to the crocodile.

Event organiser Maire McCarthy said: “Captain Hook and Peter Pan appeared at the very first Sheffield on Sea - we are delighted that they have found their way back from Never Never Land to join us.“

Visitors to this year's city centre beach weekend will also be able to climb to new heights, up Sheffield on Sea's very own cliff.

A 7.5m climbing tower will be erected at the event for the first time on the second day.

There will also be a chance to build sandcastles, take donkey rides, travel on the land train, listen to brass bands and watch Punch and Judy.

Sheffield On Sea takes place on Saturday August 18 and Sunday August 19 in the Peace Gardens and Millennium Square between 10am and 5pm.
