Honours for Streets Ahead team for bridge work
The Streets Ahead team has been recognised at a string of award ceremonies, for the strengthening works that have been carried out on two Sheffield bridges.
The structures team was awarded two commendations in this year’s Institution of Civil Engineering Yorkshire and Humber Awards, for their work on Sheffield’s Grade II listed Ball Street Bridge, that spans the River Don, and for works on the Walkley Lane Bridge.
The Ball Street Bridge work was also recognised at last year’s Chartered Institution of Highways & Transportation Yorkshire and Humberside Branch Awards for the Best Highways and Transportation Scheme 2015.
In the past 25 years, the Streets Ahead team has maintained over 600 bridges across Sheffield.
