Dozens of homes in south Sheffield have had problems with their water supplies - with some being cut off entirely.
The issue affected the S12, S20 and S21 areas of the city yesterday
Severn Trent Water said the problems were a result of a burst water pipe.
The pipe has now been fixed but Severn Trent Water customers may still see issues , either having no water supply or low pressure.
Water has been moved around the network of pipes, which may cause the water supply to be slightly discoloured when it is restored to normal.
A spokesman for the company said the water was not harmful.
He said: “Although unappealing, we have no reason to believe there is any risk to your health.
“However, we understand that while the supply is discoloured you may choose not to drink the water.”
“To assist us as well as yourself in resolving this problem we would advise that you run the first mains fed cold water tap in your house, normally at the kitchen sink, at a gentle rate for up to 20 minutes. If the supply is not clear then turn off the tap for 20 minutes and then repeat the process, you may need to do this several times before the supply is clear.”
