IN the days of the old Soviet Union, we would not infrequently hear of Soviet citizens falling foul of the thought police for thinking politically incorrect thoughts, and being sent off to Siberia for six months re-education.

Spare a thought for the poor souls at Bevin Court Hostel for Homeless men (March 1), subjected to classes in diversity and cultural awareness, enforced togetherness, communal cookery and how to play the bongos. Talk about sing for your supper!
