Homecoming parade for Chesterfield soldiers

Soldiers are due to mark their safe return from Afghanistan by marching through the streets of Chesterfield in a homecoming parade tomorrow.

The 9th/12th Royal Lancers worked on joint operations with the Afghan Uniformed Police and formed the core of the Brigade Reconnaissance Force, a reactive dismounted force deployed mostly by helicopter to target specific threats.

Captain Adam Champion said: “Homecoming parades are as much a chance to thank our friends and families for their support as it is for our soldiers.”
