South Yorkshire Police said the pedestrian escaped with minor injuries but the silver or grey vehicle did not stop at the scene.

It is believed the vehicle would have front-end damage to its headlights and bodywork.

Officers want to hear from anyone who was travelling in the area at that time, who may have witnessed the collision or who may hold dashboard camera footage.

Call South Yorkshire Police on 101, quoting incident number 813 of January 31.
