The Abbey Lane bar recently underwent an extensive refurbishment and now items from the pub’s past will be sold to the highest bidders at an next month.

106 items will go under the hammer on February 21 - including a selection of brass jugs, tankards, pictures and some historic chamber pots.

The pub’s general manager, Jodie Hodgkinson, said: “It is all stuff that had been collected over the years and was part of the decoration at the Rising Sun until we had a major refit in November.

“We suspect some of it might be worth quite a bit, though some of it might only be of sentimental value but if you want a piece of the pub this is a great time to come along and see what’s for sale.”

The auction will kick off at the pub at 6pm.
