Historic Hellaby Hall sold for £5.6m

The four-star Hellaby Hall Hotel, on Old Hellaby Lane, Hellaby, announced new owners and management on its rebooted website last week.

The property, which was part of the five-strong Prima Hotels Group, which went into administration in May 2015, was put up for sale in September.

International real estate advisor Savills has sold the building to Hellaby Hall Hotel Limited from a guide price of £5.6 million. The sale was completed on behalf of Ryan Grant, Lee Causer and Catherine Williamson of AlixPartners Services UK LLP (AlixPartners), the joint administrators of Fontenhall Limited.

Ian Stephenson, group general manager, is confident the Hall has a bright future. He said: “The hotel is out of administration and this should mean a period of investment, getting it back to where it should be.”

The Grade II listed property dates back to the 17th century and has retained many of its historic features including the original Jacobean facade. Now an 89-bedroom hotel, it offers an AA Rosette restaurant, health and leisure club with swimming pool plus conference and events facilities for up to 500 guests.
