Highlighting risk of flooding

Have your say

THE Environment Agency is urging residents and businesses to ensure they know their local flood risk and how to protect themselves as part of a new, month-long campaign.

Flood management officers are reminding members of the public around South Yorkshire of the damage that can be caused by flooding, and advising on what people can do to keep themselves safe and limit the impact of flood waters on their property.

The campaign follows one of the wettest Septembers on record, when two months’ rain fell in three days in some areas.

People can check flood risk at the Environment Agency’s website – www.environment-agency.gov.uk – and also sign up for free, automated warnings through Flood Line on 0845 9881188.
