High speed rail will be obsolete

Have your say

Your coverage of the high speed rail ‘yes’ campaign (June 30) is one-sided. Surely in a city the size of Sheffield you could find at least one sensible person to carry a ‘no thank you’ placard for your photo.

Where will these supporters hide their blushes when new modes of transport becomes widely available? These vehicles will be capable of travelling at nearly the speed of light. It would be possible to get to the moon and back in less time than the high speed (what a joke!) train takes to get to London.

Industry and overspill residential developments could then be located in barren places preventing further nibbling away of our beautiful land.

It’s time to say enough.
