High five for fast-growing Gala Tent

A fast-growing Rotherham marquee distributor has created five jobs after targeting the motorsport and market trade sectors.

Gala Tent has seen sales grow 13 per cent year-on-year in the first half of 2016 after securing contracts with market trade organisations NABMA, FARMA, Love Your Local Market, Teenage Markets and Groupe Geraud.

It has also supplied stalls to councils across the UK and recently sold 95 gazebos to Rotherham Council for the town’s Tuesday market.

Managing director Jason Mace said: “Over the past twelve months we have concentrated on the market trade and motorsport sectors, and the investment is paying off.

“It has prompted us to invest in our staff and the five new recruits will be responsible for driving growth within the business, with three taking up roles in the company’s sales team and the other two in the company’s printing division.”

The print division, which was launched in January 2014, specialises in large-scale print including exhibition stands, signage and customised wallpaper and has seen orders increase by 100 per cent in two years.

Jason Mace added: “We have had a brilliant couple of years sales-wise and the first six months of 2016 have been especially successful, with the company not only achieving growth in the UK, but across Europe.

“We export to 11 countries across Europe, securing a number of notable new clients.”

Launched in 1999, Gala Tent helped to transform the marquee sector by making it more affordable to by tents, marquees and gazebos rather than lease them.

The company works with people planning events, parties and weddings. Now, it is seeing growth within a number of commercial sectors.

The Rotherham-based company, which sells over 15,000 structures annually, has seen sales grow by more than 13 per cent compared to 2015, increasing market share in the UK and Europe.
