A housebuilder is honouring a selfless community hero with a special engraved plaque at one of its new developments.

After receiving a five-star rating in the Home Builders' Federation customer satisfaction survey, Barratt Homes Yorkshire East chose to celebrate star-quality around its housing developments, starting with Belle Vue in Doncaster.

The Doncaster community was asked to nominate individuals who have shown commitment to local initiatives through charity work or good deeds.

Jane Owen said: “I’m delighted that Barratt Homes has recognised all of the hard work, time and effort that John has dedicated to Alzheimer’s Society and I know that the whole group highly values his efforts. His support and time has helped so many people and we couldn’t think of a better way to celebrate his dedication to the local area.”

Leonna Hardcastle, sales manager for Belle Vue, said: “As a community focused housebuilder, we believe that it’s important to support our local areas and the people who live there. We wanted to acknowledge people we believe encompass the same five-star values in the communities in which we build, which is why we’re thrilled to highlight the fantastic work of John.”
