Our editorial team is working with partners across Sheffield to raise money for the Children’s Hospital as part of its summertime elephant Herd.

There will be plenty to do, including the chance to get your face in the paper and meet a Star photographer and reporter, as well as Editor Nancy Fielder.

We will be at Devonshire Green in Sheffield city centre from 10am to 4pm tomorrow with a range of giveaways and fundraising fun for people of all ages to get involved with.

A Star photographer will be on hand until 1.30pm to snap families with our elephant and the best ones will be printed in The Star next week.

Reporter Dan Hobson will be going head-to-head in a paint-off with BBC Radio Sheffield. The two will do battle to paint an elephant against the clock.

You can take part in a raffle with some great prizes up for grabs donated by local businesses.

There will also be the chance to share your news, ideas and suggestions for your local newspaper with Editor Nancy Fielder and members of The Star team.

Raffle prizes include - hampers from Mr Pickles on Abbeydale Road, a Thornton’s hamper, tickets to Chatsworth Country Fair and to the Tropical Butterfly House in Anston, £15 to spend at The Entertainer Toy Shop on The Moor, afternoon tea at Masarella’s, afternoon tea for two at Café Zest in House of Fraser plus Curzon cinema tickets.

Sheffield Lord Mayor Coun Denise Fox will be at the event to show her support alongside members of the Children’s Hospital Charity and Theo the bear.

Official Herd merchandise and trail maps will be on sale and the team will be sharing tips on completing the circuit. We’d love to see you there - so come along and support the hospital.
