initiatives will take place to help residents on housing estates in Barnsley despite budget cuts, councillors have been told.

There will be measures to increase the number of tenants who have access to the internet and to ‘enhance the role’ of management company Berneslai Homes in providing local young people with job and training opportunities.

But Barnsley Council’s physical sustainability scrutiny commission was told the coming years would be tough because the only funding available would be income generated from rents.
