To that end, a free family drop-in session with Kate and Dan at Bentley Library takes place for adults and families between 11am-3pm on March 24 so people can have a go at creating their very own version of Donco.

Lydia Caprani from RUOS, said: “Bringing Donco to life is a massive project but one that we hope will showcase the creative flair of local people.

“Donco is a mythical, nomadic creature of yore to be created from the imaginations of local professional artists and communities but you will need to watch this space to see what he looks like in reality!

“Later this year we will be unveiling the unique creation as part of Yorkshire Festival 2016 so that will be a really exciting opportunity for everyone involved to see how their ideas have come to fruition.”
