Help raise cash for RSPCA by visiting blooming garden

A SHEFFIELD woman is opening up her beautiful garden to raise funds for RSPCA Sheffield Animal Centre.

Christine Littlewood will host the event in her garden at Fernleigh, 9 Meadowhead Avenue, on Saturday and Sunday, May 26 and 27 from 1pm to 5pm, at Fernleigh,

Admission is £2 for adults. Children attend free with an adult.

No dogs will be allowed.

Christine says: “I am delighted to be supporting the RSPCA Sheffield branch by opening my garden for the weekend. May is such a wonderful time of year to view a garden and whilst the unpredictable weather means we cannot say exactly what will be in bloom, there is always lots of colour.

“My husband and I have been working on the garden since 1989 and this is our 13th year of raising money for charity – almost £22,000 so far.

“We believe the garden has a lot to offer to visitors who will thoroughly enjoy it. It’s a cottage- style garden with a lot of unusual plants and many old favourites such as delphiniums, oriental poppies, Siberian iris, astrantias, hostas – in fact too many to list.”
