Help make dreams come true in South Yorkshire

Have your say

EMMERDALE star Sammy Winward joined forces with a five-year-old South Yorkshire boy to launch an initiative asking shoppers to donate old clothes.

Fashion Aid 2012 urges people to donate clothes to raise funds for Make-A-Wish Foundation UK, a charity which helps children with life-threateningconditions.

Charlie Auton, aged five, from Doncaster, who was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukaemia, was granted his wish to fight Spiderman’s arch enemy Venom, with the help of Spiderman, and even rescued his mother.

The Fashion Aid store at Meadowhall will trade until the end of today.

Everybody who donates a bag of clothes will be entered into a prize draw to win £500 worth of Meadowhall vouchers.

Karen England, of Make-A-Wish, said: “With the support of the community and the shoppers at Meadowhall in recycling their unwanted clothing and accessories, we hope to grant many more magical wishes for children.”
