Leeds-born rising star Corinne Bailey Rae performed recently at the Grammy MusiCares Tribute concert honouring Lionel Richie as their Performer Of The Year, alongside the likes of Stevie Wonder, Dave Grohl, John Legend, Rihanna and Florence Welch.

Corinne released her new album The Heart Speaks In Whispers on May 13, her first collection of new material for six years. Recorded both at her studio in Leeds and in Los Angeles, the album is described as rich in fresh ideas and full of emotional energy.

She said: “I’ve always been a huge fan of Lionel Richie. His music has soundtracked many moments of my life. It’s an honour to be asked to join him on his British tour.”

The UK fell back in love with Lionel last year following a tour that received glittering reviews and culminated in a phenomenal Glastonbury performance. After drawing the biggest crowd of the weekend with more than 150,000 people flocking to the Pyramid Stage, Lionel’s album The Definitive Collection reached Number 1 on the UK album charts for the first time in 23 years.
