Olympic Gold medalist Anthony, who trains at the English Institute of Sport in Sheffield, dropped into Specsavers on Pinstone Street to have his eyes tested ahead of his big fight against American Eric Molina last night in Manchester.
The boxer spent time meeting and greeting the Sheffield Specsavers team before going through to a testing room, where opthalmic director Paul McGinty performed a thorough eye examination and declared Joshua ready to face his rival at Manchester Arena.
Store manager Anita Harrison said: “Anthony was a delight to meet, he was a real gentle giant. We were so pleased that he picked our store to check that his eyesight is in tip top condition ahead of his big fight.
“We were all watching and cheering him on last night.”
