But in the last 24 hours the longer term has changed yet again with strong signs that things will heat up ad we go into this weekend and into next week.

According to the latest forecast it looks likely that Sheffield will continue to bask in warm sunshine until the end of July and next week it could get even hotter.
As we go into this weekend high pressure is set build yet again over the British Isles bringing with it very warm and settled conditions.
On Saturday temperatures in Sheffield are expected to reach at least 23C and it will be even warmer on Sunday with highs of around 25C.
And next week there is a likelihood that hot and humid air from the Mediterranean will drift over the country bringing even higher temperatures.
The hottest day in Sheffield so far this year came on Monday June 25 when a temperature of 29C was recorded.
As the heatwave continues into next week and things become increasingly hot and humid that record will be broken if temperatures exceed 30C.
