Heathland work volunteers plea

Have your say

‘BIRCH bashing’ is to take place at Wharncliffe Heathlands Nature Reserve. The session is being held this Sunday, April 7, and volunteers are being urged to help.

A reserve spokesman said: “The main job will be to cut back birch seedlings to ensure it remains a largely open habitat for birds such as nightjar.”

Meet at 11am at the River Don Bridge on Station Road, Deepcar.
