Amanda Ellis lost grandfather Fred Sargent aged 79 to cancer in 2014, quickly followed by grandmother Shirley, aged in her 80s, and dad Peter Hitchborne, aged in his 60s and a former chief superintendent of South Yorkshire Police, in 2015.

All three were treated at Sheffield's Weston Park Hospital and the 26-year-old is now hosting a fundraising raffle on Saturday to raise money for the specialist team who treated them.

The Sheffield woman said: "It was devastating to lose three family members one after another. It was awful.

"But the treatment they received at the hospital was amazing and I wanted to do something to say thank you to them.

"I don't really have a target amount, I just want to raise as much money as possible."

The make-up artist will be hosting the fundraiser at the launch of her new beauty salon called Pose on Abbeydale Road on Saturday from 1pm onwards.

Prizes include pairs of tickets to see football matches at Sheffield United and Sheffield Wednesday and a makeover and photoshoot worth £150. There will also be make-up demonstrations.
