SHEFFIELD is one of the UK’s top-value destinations for a bank holiday break, according to tourism experts.

Popular website TripAdvisor put the city in third place in its top 10 places to spend the imminent August bank holiday weekend. The cost comparison exercise took into account typical costs for two people having a pre-meal cocktail, meal out, taxis and a night in a hotel during this month. The average cost for Sheffield was £144.64, not far from the number one saver city Birmingham at £139.54.
