TEACHERS from across Sheffield are receiving training in drug and alcohol education using a new toolkit.

The resource, commissioned by Sheffield Council and NHS Sheffield, has been produced by Point Blank – a Sheffield-based arts organisation, in collaboration with Drug Train, a national drug education training provider.

Developed in consultation with teachers, children and young people and other key professionals, the resource provides teachers and youth workers with a range of innovative materials to support interactive teaching and learning for children and young people in primary and secondary schools.

Gilly Brenner, from NHS Sheffield, said the kit was also a boost to the Healthy Schools programme, aiming to improve the health and wellbeing of children across the city.
