Patients in Sheffield needing X-rays and radiotherapy are being warned that their pre-booked appointments and procedures could be affected by a four-hour strike taking place tomorrow.

Members of the Society of Radiographers who work in diagnostic imaging and radiotherapy will be walking out at the city’s hospitals on Monday from 9am to 1pm.

Emergency and urgent care will continue to be provided, the society says.

The strike was called amid an ongoing dispute over NHS pay. It is the first time since 1982 that radiographers have gone on strike over wages.
